Tune-Up & Refresher Course
Package options:
$200/week, Includes board.

$800/month - Includes board.
(2 week minimum - 30 days)
Can start off small and add weeks as needed.
This course is designed to get your horse back on track. Whether they've been off work, need help with specific issues, or you're simply looking to improve their overall rideability and handling. It’s ideal for horses that:
  • Have had time off for any reason
  • Are no longer riding or behaving as well as they used to
  • Have developed new undesirable behaviors or bad habits
  • Were recently purchased and you're unsure of what they know or how truly “broke” they are
  • Need more miles & experience
  • Or are just wanting to see where they're at in general after time off or they're a recent purchase.

What to Expect – Horses Previously in My Program
For horses that have already completed training with me in the past, this course serves as a refresher of everything previously taught, along with any necessary updates or improvements based on what I teach now.

Training may include:
  • Reinforcement of groundwork, tying, desensitization, and patience
  • Addressing behavioral concerns or "issues" brought up by the owner
  • Trail riding (if previously introduced)
  • Gait transitions, solo riding, and overcoming buddy sour tendencies
  • Adding any new exercises or methods I’ve developed since the horse’s original training
  • Adding miles & exposure
Let me know what you'd like addressed prior to sending them. This course is fully customizable to suit the horse's current stage and your goals.

What to Expect – Horses New to My Program
New horses will begin with a short evaluation to determine:
  • What they already know
  • How well they retain that knowledge
  • What needs improvement
Training will then focus on:
  • Filling in foundational gaps (groundwork, desensitization, tying, etc.)
  • Correcting behaviors or problem areas
  • Reintroducing consistent riding, transitions, trail work (if appropriate), solo riding, and more
  • Tackling specific issues like buddy sourness or resistance
Owners are welcome to share their concerns or goals; this course is designed to adapt to the horse's individual needs.

Daily Training Duration
  • Each horse is worked 5 days a week.
  • Minimum training time is 1 hour per day, tailored to each horse’s needs.
  • Total daily interaction/training time may range from 1 to 5 hours, broken up into increments, not a continuous block of time.
Training time includes:
  • Tying practice: 15 minutes to 1 hour per day (solid time and/or broken up into increments).
  • Basic handling and care
  • Groundwork and training exercises
  • Riding sessions, when appropriate
  • Trail riding: 1 to 2 hours, only if the horse is qualified and ready
  • If a horse does well and progresses within their minimum training time, no additional work may be needed that day.
  • If more support or development is needed, additional time will be provided accordingly.
In the event of severe weather conditions, training time may:
  • Be rescheduled for a different time during the same day when conditions improve
  • Be made up on weekends when needed
Training Goals
By the end of this course, my goal is to return a horse that is:
  • More responsive, patient, and rideable
  • Improved in all requested areas
  • Safer and more consistent for their rider or handler

Please note:
Horses with trauma or PTSD-like behaviors may need more time and patience. These deeper-rooted issues are not always resolvable within a short timeframe, especially in horses that I did not personally start or train. However, I will always be honest about what I observe and give each horse the time and care they deserve.
