Peteypie is a sweet, sensitive, and an incredibly beautiful boy!
He came in with a start of some sort, to what degree I have no factual information relating to it other than that I was told he had been ridden a few times with a past owner. It was noticeable after starting him that he had been ridden before and that he did know the very basics of being started. He could have been started and left to sit for years, or he could have had a start and was just never finished. I don't know. Regardless he has been a pleasure to re-start and get going under saddle.

Peteypie is a bit of a distant guy in a sense, I don't think he's had opportunity to be doted on and doesn't seek attention out. Once he's being worked with though he seems to enjoy it and enjoy being in a person's space. I think the more he is loved on and hopefully finds his right person, that he will be a phenomenal horse.

I don't have anything bad to say about the guy. He is a little quirky but not in a bad way, just in your typical Arabian way. He's got personality, he likes to get into things if they're left out in front of him, he's nosey, and curious. Definitely a horse that will work his way into your heart.

Peteypie's story:
I was told that Peteypie was boarded at the place I had gotten him from and that he was "abandoned" as the owner of Peteypie quit paying board. He was then put up for sale. It was said he had been ridden a few times, that the person I bought him from believed he is 6/7 years old and that he had seen foal pictures of him. That is all I know about Peteypie before purchase.

Rider Level Needed:
Intermediate rider at least, an intermediate rider with a trainer that either has additional help if needed or takes lessons under said trainer with their horse would be beneficial as well.
After his 90 days, I believe he will need some consistency to keep his training going so that he learns to bond with his person and has the opportunity, without I feel he may become buddy sour as he was noticeably buddy sour coming here and while it wasn't impossible to work with him, for his best interest, being worked with at least 2-3x a week for a few months after he leaves training would be best.
He is being sold as grade, but was told he may be registered. I won't be going through with finding his papers personally, but if it matters to his future owner, and they would like to, this is an option to find out if he is registered, potentially be able to get the papers on him, and find out who he actually is:

The Arabian Horse Association now offers: "
AHA’s new Broken Chain of Ownership process helps reconnect horses with their official registration, even if paperwork has been lost along the way. Through DNA Identity testing, documented proof of ownership, and outreach to the last recorded owner, AHA works to restore your horse’s rightful record and preserve their legacy." - AHA

Sales Terms and Conditions:
Please make sure to read our sales policy here as well:
Sales - Spirit Creek Arabians with more information when purchasing from us. Please read before contacting or scheduling an appointment.
Transportation:
  • Transportation arrangements are the buyer’s responsibility.
  • We're only offering transportation services within state and only from May 1st-November 1st.
  • Horses must be picked up within one week of purchase or upon receipt of veterinary paperwork.
  • We do not offer post-purchase boarding.
  • Once a horse is purchased, we allow up to one week for pickup or transport arrangements to be completed. Board will be charged for any day(s) further of stay with a max limit of two weeks. It is expected that transportation and any requested veterinary work be scheduled and carried out in a timely manner by serious or committed buyers.
  • Only exception is if the horse was bought early in training and is staying an additional month to complete that training.
Additional Costs:
  • Buyer is responsible for all additional expenses or requirements that's wanted/needed, including but not limited to transportation, Coggins test, health certificate, pre-purchase examination (PPE), or any other veterinary work needed or requested.
  • Most of our sales horses do not have updated Coggins, Health certificates, etc. at time of sale as we do not need them for anything personally. All of ours have negative Coggins coming in and if they're still up to date, they will be listed as such but usually expire by the time of sale.
Veterinary Work and Holding Policy:
  • If a potential buyer requests veterinary work, the horse will be placed on “hold” status and held only until the examination or test results are received. A timely decision is expected once results are available and the horse will be made available again unless a decision to buy or down payment is made that same day.
  • Please note that any veterinary work performed at the request of a potential buyer is nonrefundable and entirely at the buyer’s discretion.
Payment and Purchase Policy:
  • We accept cash only as payment, no exceptions. To prevent scamming and bad checks.
  • We do not allow out-of-state purchases unless the buyer visits in person to see the horse prior to purchase.
Discounted Continued Training:
  • Horses currently enrolled in our training program are eligible for Discounted Continued Training at the discretion of the buyer. This option is offered at a reduced rate of $950 per month, which includes pasture board. Please note that only pasture board is available under this discounted program.
  • This reduced rate is provided because the horse’s daily routine, handling, and training structure will remain consistent with the program they are already accustomed to. Since these horses have already been started and integrated into our training system, continued development can be offered at a lower cost while maintaining the same quality and progression.
  • Buyers may elect to begin this continued training immediately after purchase, if wanted.
  • Additionally, any horse that's gone through our training program that's been purchased from us is eligible for a discounted refresher every year as well as continued training at any point throughout its life, provided that we are actively offering training services to the public at that time. This lifelong eligibility ensures consistency in training and support for both horse and owner long term and being we put so much into our horses, we would like to make sure they continue to do well for their future. Whether you bought a horse from us directly or acquired one that was in our training program at some point, as long as they've been through our program, they're eligible! You can find more information on this here: Discounted Refresher's & Continued Training Program

What Peteypie is trained for & can do:
  • Working on trailer loading during his 90 days (haven't had the trailers available).
  • Good for the farrier
    • Peteypie has solid, healthy hooves.
  • Knows how to lunge both ways, switch when asked, and comes inwards when asked
  • Has had thorough desensitization & groundwork
  • Respectful on the ground, gentle, EXCEPT when walking towards his pasture, he likes to go in front of you and get pushy (still working on, but he just needs correction).
  • Ties respectfully and doesn't test boundaries of what he's tied to but still offers bunny hopping or dancing at times. Offers no halter pulling.
  • Minor buddy sourness issues upon coming (small acclimation period to also consider), nothing out of control or hard to handle, he will still ride out alone with redirection and no bad behaviors.
  • Rides out alone (Needs minor encouragement forwards when feeling buddy sour but continues on without bad behaviors and is easily redirected).
  • Stands for tacking/untacking but will move side to side somtimes.
  • Stands for mounting/dismounting and turns his neck to you when you're getting on/off
  • Was originally started in a knot halter and then transitioned into a snaffle bit.
  • Can be ridden in a knot halter or bridle, he is softer in a bridle.
  • At a W/T/C, slowly working on the canter at 90 days, he needed some weight gain first.
  • Has great neck flexion both lateral and vertical
  • Backs up
  • Trained for one-rein stops
  • Steps up onto and goes over obstacles and objects
  • Doesn't mind music being played from the saddle (off of a phone) or loudly playing in the barn.
  • Hasn't offered ANY bad behaviors since being started under saddle. No buck, kick, bite, rear, or bolt.
  • Has been ponied by an ATV
  • Is good around vehicles so far but still working on exposure and experience
  • Has been blanketed
  • Has had exposure to goats, machinery, vehicles, ATV's, fire/smoke, chainsaws (in the pasture with the herd), gunshots (on the property), dogs (we have loud and chaotic dogs around him all the time and up close).
  • Has been pastured in our "training horse pasture" since arriving. This has consisted of 5-8 horses coming in and leaving since March 2026, both mares & geldings. He is naturally at the lower end of the of the herd rank wise, if a new horse comes in or he is initially new himself. He keeps to himself and just walks away or stays away until he gets more comfortable. Once he is comfortable, he pins his ears a lot (looks crabby nonstop) and tries to be "bigger" by having his ears pinned. He doesn't offer any aggressive behaviors like kicking or biting, but he is always crabby in the pasture. He has one friend that he came in with that he hangs out with most of the time (Nicco), he will be seen hanging around others but hasn't sought after any "new friends". I'd say he technically gets along with everyone, but doesn't like to be bullied or picked on, so he's always pinning his ears lol.
  • Prefers his friends over humans currently (needs to bond to someone) there is potential as if he wants to, but I think he's been used to being with horses most of his life which is the reason for this.
  • Peteypie isn't hard to catch, but he does like to walk away from you if he knows what you're up to. Unless you have treats/snacks, he's right there.
  • He has been stalled without issue when he originally came in March, he is now only pastured.

  • Peteypie is NOT good for baths or fly spray currently
  • Peteypie also has a slight fear for something touching his way hind end when on the ground and in the saddle that we are currently trying to work through. He doesn't bolt or take off, he is controllable, it's just he picks up pace and doesn't like anything touching that area. I haven't been able to pinpoint the trigger for it or why he is fearful of it, but I found out when I'd lay or tap my reins on his hind end to encourage forward movement. He's okay with your hand touching him there in the saddle or on the ground, maybe it's due to a whip? Maybe he was previously ground driven and it was a cue to move off? Who knows. But it currently exists.
He was pastured with a bunch of other horses.

I purchased Peteypie along with Nicco & Levi as I was looking for prospects in March with intentions of training them and selling them. I originally wasn't looking at Peteypie, but considered taking all 3 home the night before just in case I couldn't part with one as I only wanted to bring two back with me, guess what happened. Well, Peteypie was the first to walk up to me and seek out attention there. I fell in love instantly and thought well, he's coming home regardless, even though I had only been interested in Nicco & Levi. So any who, he was really attention seeking at his prior home but since getting here he has not been (could be an acclimation thing, new home/people thing) he has seemed to handle it more difficultly than the other two and it is taking him longer to settle. Every horse is different though.

Peteypie was a bit underweight when I had purchased him. It was found that he was infested in lice, that has been treated and taken care of and is no longer an issue. We've been working on building weight and now that he is looking pretty decent weight wise, we're now getting into conditioning and building that muscle back.

He has an incredibly beautiful long mane that is all natural. He must have long hair gene. If it is not consistently braided and well maintained it wind knots incredibly bad after one day of not being braided.
